A standard roll-off dumpster is made for common cleanup and construction debris, but it is not the right place for every item. Disposal rules can depend on the material and the facility receiving the load. When in doubt, call before loading it.
ITEMS TO KEEP OUT OF A STANDARD DUMPSTER
Do not place hazardous or pressurized materials in the container. Common examples include liquid paint, solvents, fuels, oil, pesticides, chemicals, batteries, propane tanks, medical waste and asbestos-containing material. Hot ashes and anything burning are never acceptable.
ITEMS THAT NEED CONFIRMATION FIRST
Tires, appliances, electronics and equipment containing refrigerant may require separate handling. Concrete, dirt, brick, block, shingles and tile are extremely heavy and can require a specific container or loading limit. Call before adding any of these materials, even when there is room left in the dumpster.
COMMON MATERIALS WE CAN DISCUSS FOR YOUR PROJECT
Many rentals are used for household junk, furniture, remodeling debris, wood, drywall, flooring, cabinets, roofing material and construction cleanup. Acceptance still depends on the exact mix, condition and weight, so describe the job when requesting a quote.
HEAVY MATERIAL IS DIFFERENT FROM BULKY MATERIAL
A sofa takes up plenty of space but may weigh less than a small volume of concrete. Dense debris can exceed safe transport limits before the container looks full. Never fill a large dumpster with concrete, dirt or masonry unless Roll-Off Express has approved the material and loading level for that rental.
BEFORE PICKUP
- Keep all debris at or below the top rail.
- Make sure nothing is hanging over the sides.
- Do not add liquids or loose hazardous material.
- Remove vehicles and other obstacles from the truck's path.
- Contact us if the load changed from what you originally described.
